2025 Tasker Year in Review: a look back at everything we achieved together

As 2025 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to thank you, our Tasker community, for making this another incredible year. Whether you assembled furniture, mounted TVs, or helped clients tackle everyday projects, your hard work continues to power our marketplace and bring trusted home services to millions of people around the world.

This year, we focused on making your experience smoother, more rewarding, and better connected: from app improvements and policy clarity to exciting new partnerships. Let’s take a look at all the ways Taskrabbit has evolved for Taskers over this past year!

Product updates that simplify and empower

Real-time announcements and mobile inbox

You now receive important updates directly in your Tasker app, from pop-up alerts for time-sensitive issues to inbox messages for general news.

Why it matters: stay in the loop about launches, workflow changes, or policy updates without missing a beat.

See it in action: check your mobile inbox for the latest updates anytime!

Countdown timer for task confirmations

To help you manage new invitations, we added a countdown timer that shows how long you have to chat or confirm a task.

Why it matters: clearer timing = less guesswork = more accepted jobs.

See it in action: shown on pending invitation Task Cards on the Home Screen of your Tasker app!

Task Card improvements

Clients can now see more about your stellar track record right from the start: average star rating (if 4.9+), review count (if 50+), and number of total tasks completed (if 50+).

Why it matters: it helps you put your best foot forward by showcasing your hard work and experience right from the start.

Tasker proof of completion

To protect you and your work, we now require Taskers to upload a photo of their completed IKEA tasks before submitting invoices.

Why it matters: a quick photo protects your work and helps ensure timely payment!

Important note: Taskers should also capture photos to prove they attached the required items to the wall.

Performance improvements

The home screen now refreshes faster. No more reloading every time you switch tabs.

Why it matters: navigate more smoothly every time you use the app.

See it in action: easily refresh your home screen by simply pulling down on your app.

Cancellation fee banners

You’ll now see real-time status banners for client-cancelled tasks right in your app.

Why it matters: no more guessing if a fee is processing; get real-time information around the status of your cancellation fee payout.

See it in action: when a client cancels a task, you’ll now see an updated banner in the “Task Details” panel with the payout status of your cancellation fee.

New partners for more opportunities

This year, we partnered with more brands than ever, opening new doors for Taskers around the world!

We’re thrilled to have Danetti, Millie & Jones, Homary, Happy Beds, and Furniture Box as some of our newest partners!

Why it matters: every partnership means more tasks, more clients, and more ways to earn.

Policy updates that strengthen trust

We reinforced several key policies this year to make our marketplace fair, safe and transparent for everyone.

Identity Policy

Your Tasker profile must match the government-issued ID you used to register, including your name and photo. You can update your photo anytime, as long as it clearly shows you and reflects your current appearance.

Why it matters: clients book with confidence knowing who to expect, and your verified identity helps protect against fraud or impersonation.

Who can complete a task

Only the registered account holder can complete a task. If you use an Assistant, they must be a registered Tasker and follow our Teams Policy.

Why it matters: this ensures client trust and consistency. Clients should always know who’s arriving to complete the work.

Teams Policy

You can collaborate with other Taskers by bringing a registered Assistant or having another Tasker complete the job for you, as long as it’s clearly communicated to the client in advance.

Why it matters: working together can help you take on larger jobs, but transparency is key. The Primary Tasker is responsible for the Assistant’s conduct, payment, and compliance with Taskrabbit terms.

Skills & Tools Policy

Our Skills & Tools Policy helps make sure Taskers are fully prepared to complete the jobs they accept.

Important note: you do not need to bring all your tools to every single task if they are not needed!

Updates to help you earn smarter

Incentives

We introduced Tasker Challenges as a fun way to earn bonus rewards for completing specific task goals.
Why it matters: get rewarded for showing up and doing great work.

Start earning: find active Challenges under the “Performance” tab in your Tasker app.

Global pricing structures

We’ve created a clear guide to explain how Taskers earn, from fixed project pricing to self-set hourly rates.

Why it matters: know your options and maximise your earning potential.
