Taskrabbit launches in Northern Ireland

6th October, 2022: Starting today, people in Northern Ireland can use Taskrabbit to hire a skilled, local Tasker to tick any number of household jobs off their to-do list.

More than 120 independent workers have already signed up to the platform to offer their skills. Taskers can register in more than 40 categories, spanning from furniture assembly and gardening to painting and minor home repairs.

The platform offers micro-entrepreneurs a simple way to build their business and earn extra income. Taskers set their own schedule, working area and choose rates for each category, taking home 100% of their rates and any tips. Across the UK, Taskers earn on average £25.88 per hour.

The launch into Northern Ireland is the latest expansion for Taskrabbit, having recently made its services available in every postcode across England, Scotland and Wales. This strategic shift came in response to increased demand from new regions as Brits moved out of urban centres during the pandemic.

With continued demand from across the UK, the marketplace has expanded rapidly. The past year proved to be the biggest yet for Taskrabbit, with more than 400,000 bookings made in the UK over the last 12 months and 7,500 Taskers active on the platform. Begüm Zarmann, Managing Director at Taskrabbit Europe, said: "We’re so excited to be bringing Taskrabbit to Northern Ireland, giving 1.9 million new people access to our platform and diverse range of services so they can get more done at home. Most importantly, we’re proud to be generating new work opportunities for local people.”

Taskrabbit, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ingka Group (IKEA), is available across Northern Ireland via its mobile app and website beginning today. In addition, IKEA customers can access the furniture assembly services provided by Taskrabbit at ikea.co.uk/taskrabbit. Taskers are available to help IKEA customers with furniture assembly in their homes from as fast as one day after purchase.
