Taskrabbit Partners with Barnardo’s Retail to Provide Donation Drop off Service Through ‘Taskrabbit for Good’ Initiative

‘TaskRabbit for Good’ harnesses the power of the TaskRabbit platform to make it easier for neighbours to give back and make a positive impact in their communities

LONDON, 17 August 2020 -- TaskRabbit, the online and mobile task platform that makes everyday life easier for everyday people, today announced that individuals can now hire local Taskers to pick up their pre-loved items for donation, and have these delivered directly to any of Barnardo’s 710 retail stores across the United Kingdom.

The new service makes it easier and faster than ever to donate pre-loved items to your local Barnardo’s charity shop without having to even leave the house! Booking a collection is simple and once the pick-up has been scheduled, items are collected quickly, with same-day collection available in some locations.

The donation service can be easily booked via a referral link on Barnardo’s shop page for a small fee, with 100% of the profits from donation drop-off tasks going directly to support Barnardo’s 1,000 services, helping vulnerable children, young people, and families across the UK.

The new service will enable Barnardo’s to maximise the number of donations they receive as they are currently unable to offer their own collection services outside of their limited furniture collection service.

Barnardo’s Chief Executive Javed Khan said, “Our partnership with Task Rabbit will make it easier and safer for people to donate their pre-loved goods to Barnardo’s shops as they reopen. The income generated from these donated items is more vital than ever, as we respond to the impact of Coronavirus on vulnerable children and families across the UK.”

“It’s in TaskRabbit’s nature to help as many people as we can, which is why we’re delighted to partner with the largest children’s charity in the UK,” said Diana Rothschild, Director of Strategic Partnerships at TaskRabbit. “Barnardo’s does incredible work to support vulnerable children and young people, and we’re thrilled to help them obtain the donations they need, and do it quickly and safely.”
