It took me some time to write a review, but I would not book Ben again. I liked him totally as a person (even made him coffee lol), but the value / cost ratio was not the best. I trusted his lower hourly rate coz he didn’t have too many jobs and reviews on the platform yet. Thought it’s a win-win. In fact, the job took longer than expected, but hard to comment here, maybe I didn’t describe it quite right? Not a pro in this and don’t know how another one would have done it. I was friendly and relaxed, chatting and finding my instruments when it turned out he forgot one of his.. so it was 3.5 hours instead of 2 booked or 2.30 I’d expected. But what surprised me most, even though it’s a small fraction, was the parking. Long before Ben coming I wrote to him that there’s paid parking or I can get him an all day resident visitor pass for £3. He didn’t respond so I thought he’d take care of that, or had a permit; so apparently paid a street parking for 2h. When we realized it’s taking more than 2h, immediately I’d buy the resident visitor pass at £3 for rest of the day. What was my surprise when in the bill I also saw the street parking for like £12 or so? Why not just use my parking, so I don’t pay double (4x) the cost? Also there are some minor family’s like cracks of paint in the wall around drills, but again I don’t know if it’s the quality of paint so can’t blame. In one shelf there’s a set of different looking screws, perhaps also forgottenC, and nobody told me about it. It looks okay when it’s full, but if it’s clear you can see the different size and colour of the screws, not neat. I realize for Ben it’s not the main focus of the work life right now, but still why not be upfront with the client about any costs, arrangements and missing parts. I don’t feel quite well about this, as if I just lack a husband after divorce with baby & being a sole company founder, I should be tricked.. I sent an email to Ben privately about this a few weeks before posting any review, hoping we can resolve this (aka if he’s nearby he can come and change the screws, or apologize for parking misunderstanding), but received no response. So I wanted to inform fellow TaskRabbit clients to maybe consider again. I think next time I’m gonna stick with someone at £50-75 h rate and hope they can do the job in 1.5 h and also be clear about any extra costs. Such a pity, as I said in the beginning I really liked Ben as a person!!

First time user of TaskRabbit, and was so chuffed I picked Goran! He was super professional, thorough and tidy. Highly recommended and will definitely use him again for other jobs. Thanks Goran!
Booked for what should have been a very basic task, cutting a round hole in the back of a cabinet for cables to pass through so it could be used as TV unit - could have done it myself but didn’t want to invest in the special tool of a circular drill attachment just for this one job. Despite what I thought was very clear brief Sachs turned up over an hour ahead of agreed time with no notice and without the necessary tools. He cut a messy square in the back of my hardwood cabinet using a regular drill and some sandpaper, I could have done that myself and only used Taskrabbit in order to have access to specialist tools a handyman would have to do a neat and professional job. I gave feedback throughout that I wanted a circular shape and neat edges but he told me the rough square was the best he could do. The cables fit through and thankfully it isn’t something you can see when the cabinet is closed but was very disappointed and at some point in the future will look to get it re-done with the proper tools. Very limited communication from the tasked throughout which probably contributed to the disappointing result. Wouldn’t book again sorry.
Shazad was incredibly efficient, polite and friendly.
